GOP not wetland-friendly?

Journal Inquirer
December 30, 2005

I was reading the Journal Inquirer and saw that Jane Seymour was not voted back onto Vernon's Inland Wetlands Commission. Just four weeks ago the Republican Party was saying how it is wetland -friendly.

Seymour is one of the most knowledgeable people on the commission. Her qualifications are impeccable.

Let's also note that the Vernon IWC just won an award by the state. Now the Republicans say she shouldn't be reappointed to the commission. What's up with that? If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Please forgive my ignorance, Jason McCoy. Why would Republicans not vote someone with her credentials back on the commission? Mr. McCoy, where do you stand with wetlands, Home Depot, and Wal-Mart? I noticed you never mentioned any of these hot issues facing the town before elections. Is there a reason why you never mentioned this before?

I have been voting for about 25 years. I vote for the person who tells me what he thinks and how he feels. I never vote for the person who doesn't say anything but puts other's agendas down.

The town is going to suffer and lose someone who is very good at what she does and takes it seriously. I am asking publicly for McCoy and the Republican Party to do what is right for the town of Vernon, not what is right for the good ol' boys.
