VERNON — Two men were charged with narcotics violations Tuesday after police said they received a tip about a planned heroin deal at the Burger King on Reservoir Road.

Ramon Robles, 49, of Hartford, was charged with possession of heroin, sale of heroin, possession of heroin with intent to sell, possession of less than a half ounce of marijuana, and possession of drugs within 1,500 feet of a school.

Kristopher G. Hansen, 49, of 17 Regan St., Apt. 95, was charged with criminal attempt to possess narcotics and possession of prescription narcotics not in the original container.

Robles, who was the driver of the vehicle, was held in lieu of $10,000 bond and Hansen was held in lieu of $2,500 bond. Their arraignment is scheduled for today in Vernon Superior Court.

The arrests came after members of the East Central Narcotics Task Force received information that a man would be arriving at the restaurant driving a black car with a large quantity of heroin, police said.

Task force members set up a surveillance operation about 7 p.m. and stopped the car, police said.

Task force members seized 93 bags of heroin, 4 grams of raw heroin, 7 grams of marijuana, and other drug paraphernalia from the vehicle, police said.
